Season Recap
- The Presto Ice Cream kings were on top of the standings in the first conference, due to the impressive performance of import Derwin "Tank" Collins, despite that, management and coaching staff were in dilemma whether to replaced him with the waiting Kenny Redfield, with the vote of confidence by his teammates and coach, Collins keeps his job, and Redfield went to Pepsi instead.
- Going into the crucial stretches, the Ice Cream kings failed to sustain its winning run, from a 7-win, 2-loss record, they lost 9 of their last 10 games, winning only once in the semis, snapping a four-game losing streak with a 101-98 victory over San Miguel on April 5. Presto didnt even get a chance to play for third place, losing their last semifinal game to Swift, and ended up fifth in the tournament.
- With injuries hurting the team, the Ice Cream kings won only two out 10 games in the All-Filipino, Coach Jimmy Mariano filed his resignation as early as Presto's last two games, his departure was apparently due to the team's lackluster performance in the last three conferences despite lofty billings, and the rumored rift with Presto top honcho Ignacio Gotao after Presto lost a won-game against Purefoods in their June 28 outing.
- Former Grandslam coach Tommy Manotoc succeeded Mariano at the Presto bench in the third conference, the team was able to acquire the services of Jerome Harmon as their import, the Global Basketball Association slam dunk champion was highly advertised and there were protest by other teams that he was above the height limit of 6'2", Harmon was re-measured and met the ceiling at 6'1 7/8.
- The inaugural game of the Third Conference saw Presto bow to Shell, 95-104, after three games, the Ice Cream kings were least impressed with Jerome Harmon, and he was replaced by Joey Wright, who led Presto to their first win, a 139-135 victory over San Miguel Beer on October 4, Wright then got injured in their game against Shell, and was replaced by Eldridge Recasner.
- Presto never won again and rumors were already widespread that the team was headed for disbandment and that Allan Caidic was truly leaving the CFC franchise, after 18 years, one of the two remaining pioneer teams in the PBA, the Presto ballclub finally bid the league goodbye.
